So I was cleaning up some stuff in my room and came across an old paper that had a list of badminton rankings from waaaay back when. I was ranked 16th one year in the city in my age and gender group! Incredible ..

Went through some old OFSAA stuff I kept around .. brings back so many memories. After (some failed) googling to try to find an online version of some stats, I came across an article that said Roger Wallis and his wife were retiring from coaching badminton. So sad, they were such wonderful people. I met Roger a few times in my tournaments in high school and he was always such a great person to talk to.
I remember I went to the Toronto District Championships in my last year for OFSAA qualifiers .. he spotted me easily and exclaimed how fat my racket handle was (I put like, 2 wads of grip on it). Wished me good luck and I ended up winning it that year. Good times.

Have fun in your retirement Roger, you deserve it! Hope our paths will cross again one day.
